CHAR 88’s LADIES NIGHT OUT RAISED $6,000 TO BENEFIT THE JIM MORA COUNT ON ME FAMILY FOUNDATION’s HOLIDAY SHOP in Atlanta.

The new Char 88 Steakhouse and Piano Bar in Historic Buford partnered with the Jim Mora Count On Me Family Foundation to help raise funds for the annual Holiday Shop at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Char 88 hosted a “Ladies Night Out” on Monday Dec 7th -- a special evening of great food, fine wines, wonderful entertainment, a special silent auction, vendor items and more— to help support local charities, including the Foundation. Over 120 women came out to support the event, enjoying a three-course dinner, glass of wine, entertainment from a piano player, and more, with a portion going to the Foundation. Funds raised help offset costs of the 2009 Holiday Shop, held in the Zone at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Scottish Rite the following day. SUPER SEATTLE STEAK OUT BENEFIT BASH


October 19, 2008 - The Jim Mora Count On Me Family Foundation hosted a football-themed dinner fundraiser, the Super Seattle Steakout Benefit Bash, in the private room at Stoney River Legendary Steaks in Duluth.

Attendees of the event joined fellow fans on a night out at one of Atlanta’s premiere steak houses for mouth-watering steaks, delicious drinks and football! In addition to amazing food, signature cigars by Cigartainment, and door prizes, attendees bid on authentic NFL football gear --jerseys, helmets, footballs-- and other unique items, while watching the Seattle Seahawks play Tampa Bay on a 52” SHARP HDTV AQUOS LCD TV, courtesy of Aaron’s Sales and Lease, all to benefit children in need in Georgia. The evening was emceed by Foundation friend, Wes Durham, with a heart-felt presentation by Special Olympics Ambassador Katy Wilson and Special Olympics Chairman of the Board Bill Huber.

All proceeds from the event benefited the Foundation and its programs that serve children’s organizations here in metro Atlanta. Thank you to Aaron’s Sales and Lease for their donation of the “52 flat screen television, and a very special thank you to Stoney River Legendary Steaks for their sponsorship of the evening.

SUPER SEATTLE SEND OFF BENEFIT BASH

May 12, 2007 - The Super Seattle Send Off Benefit Bash fundraising event, presented by AirTran Airways, was a great success, bringing in close to $100,000 for Special Olympics Georgia (SOGA), and the Jim Mora Count On Me Family Foundation.  Over 230 people attended the event, Saturday, May 12, 2007 at the Mora residence in Sugarloaf Country Club, in Duluth, Georgia, which replaced the annual golf tournament that year.

Inspired by the annual Jim Mora Celebrity Golf Classic VIP Party, The Super Seattle Send Off Benefit Bash featured the following:  an incredible dinner, courtesy of Stoney River Legendary Steakhouse; delectable desserts, courtesy of Caffé Stella; a rocking blues band, the Cazanovas; cigar rolling, courtesy of Cigartainment; mingling with special guests and celebrities; and Monte Carlo-style games.   There was also the opportunity to win a 2007 Ford Edge, courtesy of the Atlanta Area Ford Dealers.  The event also spotlighted special live and silent auction opportunities featuring unique sports memorabilia from legends like Lance Armstrong and Tiger Woods, as well as special one-of-a-kind experiences and trips, including a 2008 Super Bowl trip to Arizona, a trip to the American Idol Finals and Results Show, and weekend trips to Las Vegas, Nevada and Miami, Florida.  In addition, one lucky attendee walked away with the big prize of the evening --  the Seattle Seahawks Spectacular Weekend – a trip for two to the beautiful Pacific Northwest, including airfare courtesy of AirTran Airways, hotel accommodations courtesy of the Westin Seattle, breakfast and dinner for two, two tickets to a Seahawks game and more.

“Thanks to the continued support and interest of our presenting sponsor, AirTran Airways, other sponsors, donors, attendees and friends, the Super Seattle Send Off Benefit Bash has helped bring our annual Foundation events total to over $820,000 in the last three years for children in need in Georgia,” said Shannon Mora, VP of the Foundation.  “We are touched by the ongoing support from the community, and look forward to continuing our efforts to support children in need in Georgia through events like this.”

Jim Mora Celebrity Golf Classic - GOLF TOURNAMENT 2006

The Second Annual Jim Mora• Pulte Homes Celebrity Golf Classic held on June 5, 2006 at the Tournament Players Club at Sugarloaf, in Duluth, Georgia raised over $400,000 for local charities.  The tournament, which was sold out for the second year in a row, was proud to have once again selected Special Olympics Georgia(SOGA), as one of it's charity benefactors, as well as the newly-created Jim Mora Count OnMeFamily Foundation.

One hundred and seventy golfers participated in the tournament, playing all three courses (27 holes) at TPC Sugarloaf.  Each participant enjoyed breakfast at the club, the putting contest, 18 holes on the course, lunch on the course, courtesy of Stoney River Restaurant, Antiqua Tex-Mex Restaurant and Outback Steakhouse, and an invitation to the post event reception.  There were nineteen special contests out on the courses, where one winner per foursome was the surprise twist, including longest and straightest drive contests, closest to the pin contests and six hole-in-one contests, click hereto see winners of this year's contests, but the most-talked about contest was the Car Contest Shootout.  The winner of this year’s second annual shootout was Jim Devaney, who was playing for the Integrated Excellence team.  Devaney drove home in a 2006 Ford Fusion, courtesy of Atlanta Area Ford Stores.  The Ike Reese/Heineken Team was the champion team each awarded an etched Tiffany crystal bowl courtesy of Tiffany & Co and two airline tickets courtesy of Airtran Airways.

Celebrities participating in the event included:  Atlanta Falcons Players Michael Vick, Matt Schaub, Keith Brooking, Warrick Dunn, Patrick Kerney, DeAngelo Hall, Brian Finneran, Ike Reese, Fred McCrary, Derek Rackley, Michael Jenkins; as well as other celebrities including:  ESPN’s Chris Mortenson, NFL Network’s Jay Glazer; former NFL greats Terrell Davis, Rodney Harrison, Ashley Ambrose, Steve Bartkowski, and Morten Andersen; legendary NFL Coaches Steve Mariucci and Jim Mora, Sr.;  Atlanta Thrashers’ Head Coach Bob Hartley and Captain Scott Melanby, and Major League Baseball’s Hall of Famer Phil Niekro. click here for the full celebrity list

The live and silent auctions featured trips to Super Bowl XLI in Miami, Florida, and the 2007 Pro Bowl in Hawaii, as well as a Falcons Fly Away trip to New Orleans, a behind the scenes at NFL Network “NFL Game Day, special VIP packages to Las Vegas, NAPA Valley and Vail, Colorado.  The auction also offered unique sports memorabilia including:  a Boxing Glove signed by Muhammad Ali, an autographed yellow “Livestrong” jersey from Lance Armstrong, a Royal St. Andrews 2000 British Open Championship Pin Flag signed by Tiger Woods, and a one-of-a-kind Vince Lombardi framed Game Day Program and hand written game plan crafted when he was a young assistant coach.  Bidders at the event helped raised over $90,000 in the auctions this year.

Jim Mora Celebrity Golf Classic - GOLF TOURNAMENT 2005

Atlanta Falcons Head Coach Jim Mora hosted the inaugural Jim Mora – Pulte Homes Golf Classic on June 6, 2005 at the Tournament Players Club at Sugarloaf, in Duluth, Georgia, to raise money for Special Olympics Georgia. 

120 golfers participated in the inaugural event, which offered golfers a putting clinic, special contests on the course, as well as lunch on the course, and entrance to a celebrity-studded awards reception and live auction which featured trips to Super Bowl XXXX and the 2006 Pro Bowl.  The top golfer in an end-of-the-day shootout drove away in a 2005 Ford Escape Hybrid - 2005 North American SUV of the Year, compliments of Atlanta area Ford dealers.    The event raised over $200,000 for Special Olympics Georgia.
